Customer Profile: LivingTree
LivingTree provides fundraising and parent engagement software to K-12 schools with their LivingTree Give and Engage software as a service platforms. LivingTree’s software helps nearly 1.5 million parents, teachers, and school supporters around the world.

The Challenge
LivingTree had been using multiple offshore vendors with mixed results. As an EdTech company, they needed superior quality engineering, quality, and support without breaking their budget.
The Solution
LivingTree consolidated all of their front and backend engineering, QA, mobile, and UI/UX work with Aither Technology. They have three Aither Teams working on three different core areas of their products.
All three teams have highly experienced full-stack developers, designated QA manual and automation testers, and are overseen by strong engineering management. The teams follow a rigorous Agile development methodology that ensures rapid release, high quality development environment.
Additionally, LivingTree also added customer support representatives that are able to work directly with the engineering team resolving customer issues and to help drive customer implementations.

The Technology
LivingTree runs a LAMP stack on Amazon Web Services. Our AWS certified team was able to take over the existing LivingTree infrastructure and optimize EC2 and RDS usage. The team then elevated the LivingTree applications to the next level by implementing automated OpsWorks (Chef) deployments, mobile push notifications using Lambda serverless technology, and shifting the LivingTree API to use the AWS API gateway service. All goals were accomplished by maintaining or reducing expenses.
